Indonesia is divided into three time zones, those being central, western and eastern time as follows:
Indonesia Western Time (IWST)— seven hours ahead (UTC+07:00) of Greenwich Mean Time
Indonesia Central Time (ICST)— eight hours ahead (UTC+08:00) of Greenwich Mean Time
Indonesia Eastern Time (IEST)— nine hours ahead (UTC+09:00) of Greenwich Mean Time
The boundary for the western and central zones runs between Java and Bali (through central Kalimantan). The boundary for the central and eastern zones runs from the eastern tip of Sulawesi and the eastern tip of West Timor.
