Nestled in the bush just outside the village of Oenesu, 17km south of Kupang, this beautiful three-tiered waterfall is a great place to come and cool off. Don’t expect to have the place to yourself though as it’s a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike. In fact, it can get quite crowded on the weekends so you’re best to visit on weekdays if you can.

Head southwest from Kupang along Jl. Badak for 13km until you hit Batakte village, then turn left towards Oenesu (2km). About 400m passed the village you see a signposted turnoff to the right for “Air Terjun Oenesu.” If you get lost just ask for directions as every local knows Oenesu well. Bemo’s from Kupang will take you as far as Batakte village; you’ll have to walk the remaining 3km. Oenesu is a well established recreation area so there’re picnic tables, toilets, change rooms, stalls and unfortunately lots of rubbish.
