Kepa Island

Kepa Island is located just a stone’s throw across the water from Alor Kecil at the southwestern tip of Bird Neck Peninsular. This adorable little isle is surrounded by some of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world.

There’s a Westerner run lodge offering a range of accommodation to suit most budgets but you can head over for a day trip if that’s all your schedule or budget allows. Whilst the Lodge offers dive trips, you don’t have to be a diver to enjoy Kepa. The swimming and snorkelling in the pristine waters just offshore from the isle’s powdery beach is fabulous, stroll around the island or just kick back and relax.

Getting to Kepa is easy. Alor Kecil, the jumping off point for Kepa is only 15km from Kalabahi, 30 mins by car or ojek, a little longer using public transport. In Alor Kecil head down to the big Banyan tree by the beach to arrange an island transfer. The small boats usually run on demand and cost IDR 20.000 per person.
